Sensations

What does it feel like?

In Freefall you will have the sensation of floating rather then falling. This more than a ride at an amusement park.. This is true human flight! The parachute ride is more tranquil, take a look at the landscape and fly.

What if I am afraid of heights?

This is no problem. Many skydivers suffer from the same phobia. Once you pass a few hundred feet the sensation of height is generally unnoticeable. 25+ people come each year to conquer that fear. They All Jump!

Weather
If it rains, should I still come out?

Yes, Skydiving is a weather dependant sport and operations will cease while it rains. However, classroom training will continue in all weather conditions. If the rain stops, as it often does, operations will continue as soon as it is determined safe to proceed.

What weather can't I jump in?

• We cannot skydive in snowy conditions, however we will skydive as long as it is above -10ºC on the ground.

• Students are not permitted to jump in winds greater than 15mph(~24kph) nor in any winds considered turbulent.

• We can not skydive in low cloud cover. Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) have limitations about flying in and around clouds. Our pilots must follow these regulations and as a result, parachuting activity may not be possible.

Clothing

What should I wear for my first Jump?

Footwear: Running shoes or boots without hooks. (they must be able to be tied tight!) Sandals will not be allowed.

Common
Clothing: wear something comfortable! (sweats, track suits)
Goggles will be provided for those who wear glasses or contact lenses.

Can I jump with my friend, it's our first time?  Not at the same time but you can go in the airplane together.. You will be separated during the jump vertically and horizontally.

My mom is 85 and in good shape, can she jump? Most likely Yes!! We have had several people out in their 80's.. No one 90 yet, but with a doctor's approval, anything is possible.

Have people died at Edmonton Skydive?  No but Skydiving is an Extreme sport and does pose risk of injury and even fatality.

How many skydives can I expect to do in my first year? Let's try for 100.  Some do 30, others do 300+

Can I be an instructor? Yes!! We encourage this to be a more than a once in a lifetime jump.

How much does it cost to really get into it? We can teach you to pack parachutes, and show you how to help pay for your skydives.. Some spend $3000 buying gear and jumping, others spend less.

Do you keep jumping in the winter? Yes, but not in Edmonton after November! We train in California at Perris Valley.. There is an Indoor Vertical Wind Tunnel, and a Jet.. Anyone is welcome to join us there during our "winter sucks" boogie!

Are you open during the week? Yes, lots of the time in the summer.. But we're open everyday if your group is big enough..

Has anyone ever cried in the plane? Yes, mostly the football player types ;)

Who has the most skydives at your Dropzone?  Dave (nearly 7000) and several others with well over 4000 each

Does your dog really skydive, or are those pictures photo- shopped?  Yes, she really skydives

What would you recommend I do?  SKYDIVE!!!  Pick up the phone and make your reservation, or make it right now online!
